Outstanding service. Owner was there the day my car was towed in off the highway. Shop wasn't even open, but he took almost 2 hours out of his day to fix my car with no appointment because I was a long ways from home. Phenomenal customer service, excellent work ethic, open communication about what was wrong and what he needed to fix, and great work. Car hasn't had any problems since. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the Harrisburg area.

Here is my full review after 2 appointments with friendship auto repairs back in April 2026. I chose this shop because they are the only shop in Harrisburg with an ASE certification and many, consistent reviews across Google, Yelp, RepairPal, and Facebook. I called on a Wednesday, they were able to get me in on the following Tuesday. When I was waiting for my Uber after dropping off the car, a man stormed in saying that the neighbors of the establishment used their parking lot for a quick parking spot again. I said um, no, that’s my car… I guess I didn’t look like someone who owns the kind of car that I do. Nevertheless that same man offered me a ride back home which I appreciated and found to be friendly and a good sign about this shop. That first appointment I went in just looking to get a state inspection, tire rotation, and oil change, I ended up being quoted over 4500 worth of repairs, at least half of which were necessary to pass the state inspection. They include photos and videos in the telemetric report they send back to you, but looking back I would have had them take re-take some bc they were unclear and looked like someone just snapped a quick pic to fulfill the report rather than to aid my understanding in what’s going on with the car to. Over the course of a few days we played phone tag for me to ask questions about the various repairs. I was disappointed a few times with their timeliness on returning my calls (sometimes hours later than they had assured me on the phone). So if you’re looking to get your car in and out I would consider this… I ended up approving 3500 worth of repairs (keep in mind I do have the top trim GMC Yukon so some parts will have some quality parts-markup built in) and picked up the car the following Wednesday. I paid in cash to save money because they throw on a “convenience fee” for paying with a card. The woman at the front desk also gave me another 10% off discount for “having triple AAA”. I planned to go back and get the remaining repairs the following month. Overall they were friendly towards me and patient. I also immediately felt the difference in my wheel alignment, braking, and steering smoothness and was grateful for the appointment. About 2 weeks after having the car back, I notice an issue with my radiator fan, and a few days later the check engine light kicks on. I call friendship auto and tell them and they suggest I bring it back in and they’ll look into it right away (which I expected given the proximity of my last appointment with them). The mechanic from before that gave me the ride informed me I would get a Texas road house gift card for bringing the car back to them, which I appreciated. The issue was unrelated to anything quoted from the initial diagnostic and I approved another $700 for a new coolant temp sensor and coolant flush. I picked up the car a few days later and the same mechanic from before gave me a hug??? Didn’t love that, but as he promised on the phone had paper-clipped a Texas road house gift card to my receipt and report and said as I was leaving “now you can take your boyfriend out to a steak dinner.” The amount wasn’t written on the envelope but I assumed it was for at LEAST $50 given the amount I had just spent with them and the remark about taking another person to eat with me. Come to find out (after finishing our food) that the gift card was for a mere $20… not even enough for one person to get a steak let alone two. I meant to call and address my dissatisfaction but never did because how am I gonna complain about a COMPLIMENTARY gift card? Throughout the entire process I was using AI to read and report back on the telemetric diagnosis link they had sent me during both appointments. A recurring phrase after each repair item assessment from the AI was “good. Standard price for that repair” and “standard shop fee” but sometimes there would be a “standard shop markup on the part.” … I’m currently unsure if I will return here for more repairs. Hope this helps someone.

Super nice people! They worked hard and got my vehicle back on the road and sooner than anticipated. Pricing is within reason and didn’t nickel and dime me for non-essentials. Very happy with the experience I had and will not hesitate keeping them as my mechanics of choice while in this area.

I brought my car here to get the window fixed. When another place was gonna charge me $800, had my car for 2 days and quoted me $500 then called back on the 2nd day and said bad news we need to keep your car another day and it’s gonna be $300 more. I said ok but that’s ok. Friendship had my car a few hours and charged me less than $300 to fix. Only reason I called the other place is cause I couldn’t get in and they picked up right away but it was definitely worth the wait with friendship. Thanks ya’ll

The owners and staff are friendly. I went in for a brake inspection and was expecting to have to leave my car there for an extended amount of time. However, the needed parts were quickly delivered and the brakes were repaired. I’ve driven quite a bit of distance since my visit and have had no issues. Thank you so much!

Friendly, personable family owned business. We were treated very respectfully. We had them perform a pre-purchase inspection. A detailed report was issued. They assured us that the vehicle was in good shape and prioritized future repairs that might be needed. No pressure. I recommend this shop.

I am pleased with the total diagnostic completed on my vehicle & the results(O2 sensor needed to be replaced). Good & clear communication with staff before & after diagnostic. Cost of repair is reasonable. I would go there again in the near future. They are kind people.

I was driving through the area and needed a quick fix, they not only fit me in but got it done quickly so I could get back on the road. They were honest and friendly and definitely made the rest of the trip much more tolerable!

Friendship Auto Service is the only auto repair shop close to me that accepts the third party extended warranty I have for my 2018 Jeep Compass and I was in need of a new starter. They communicated with me and were transparent about what the warranty covered, which was all the labor and 90% of the starter. I was able to pay and pick up the Jeep after work.

Christian did an amazing job ! My car is riding better then it has in years. Jamie was fantastic at keeping me in the loop and all of my questions were answered, and if Jamie didn't know....she found out !!!

After being told my engine needed to be replaced by a Ram Dealership I contacted Friendship Auto Service. I left a message and received a prompt call back. John and I discussed the problem I was told about by the dealer. He made a timely appointment that worked for both he and I. He looked it over, told me the findings and quoted me a price. Work was completed on a day. My truck never ran better. Next problem showed up Tuesday after Sunday's snow storm, it would not start. Called John and he was able to look at it after it was towed in. He ordered the parts needed and had it done the next day. John now has all my service work. No more dealerships Thank you. Thank you!

Friendship auto always has fair pricing and excellent service

This is one of the most honest hardworking mechanic shops I’ve seen in PA. They let me know every thing step by step and they gave pictures of my alignment told me what to expect and what else needs work. My car needed to stay longer they literally gave me a ride to work and picked me up. You don’t meet people like this in 2026 god bless their souls ❤️
